Dancing Grace EM Bodemeister

Dancing Grace EM Bodemeister

Happenstance... This buck was one I was so reticent to sell. He was actually almost sold. The buyer was a no show on the agreed upon date and kept re-scheduling. However something in me kept saying to keep him. I pulled DNA (Revvy was dual bred on a second date and the kidding date was in between both dates) and decided if he was Hank's, he was staying. Well... He's Hank's and he's staying.

Boadie represents a combination I've been searching for: strong general appearance, strong udders, will to milk, dairyness while also maintaining condition with minimal extras. Boadie comes from two strong, purposefully bred animals.

His sire: My "Udder Extraordinaire" and "Bob the Builder" - Winning Streak R Empire Maker, "Hank." Hank is a buck that will never leave my herd. Ever. He is actually the reason I was so hesitant to retain a son from him, knowing I have so many daughters and granddaughters of Hank here. Hank has been fixing udders in the form of teat placement, RUH, RUA, FUA and medial on all of his daughters. Hank also elongates backs, necks and gives all of his kids the cutest (by my definition) functional heads with properly set eyes and wide muzzles.

His dam: Agape's Prize Au Revoir, "Revvy." I have been trying to find lines that purposely breed for longevity and maintaining condition while in milk. Revvy's grandmother is two time ADGA National Champion CH Agape's Prize French Quarter EEEE92. I have enjoyed watching her udder and body hold up beautifully as she ages with grace.

Revvy is petite in stature but exudes strength. She milks extremely well without additional feed rations (second cut orchard and some 17% dairy feed on the stand) are all she needs to maintain condition while in milk.

We will be photographing Boadie this spring but for now, enjoy Boadie at 12 hours old before he really unfolded-
